We did it again! Our 10th annual survey explicitly focused on End User Computing (DaaS, VDI, and Cloud PC) has been conducted, and as always your responses were overwhelming. Every year, these responses will be shared with all participants (those who opted to leave their email) and captured in a report that is available for free.
We believe the results presented in this report provide valuable insights into trends in real-world deployments, configuration, and usage of end-user computing (EUC) solutions such as Virtual Desktop and Applications and Desktop as a Service (DaaS) both on-premises and public clouds. This document will also provide a great perspective on key end-user computing trends for the forthcoming years, which will help you plan and create your EUC roadmap.
Some highlights of this survey are:
- 81% of respondents are currently using DaaS and/or Cloud PCs, with an additional 9% planning deployments, reinforcing these technologies as the new standard for digital workspaces.61% expect their DaaS/Cloud PC usage to increase over the next 1-3 years, signaling sustained market growth.81% report being satisfied or very satisfied with their DaaS or Cloud PC solutions.
- Microsoft Azure remains the dominant cloud platform, hosting 50% of workloads.Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) remains the most widely deployed DaaS platform at 16%, narrowly leading Citrix DaaS at 14%.Despite cloud growth, on-premises infrastructure still hosts 28% of workloads, highlighting the importance of hybrid deployment models.57% reported no plans to migrate workloads back on-premises, further confirming the long-term shift toward cloud-based EUC.
- 36% of respondents are running GPU-enabled workloads, reflecting growing demand for AI, graphics acceleration, and advanced workloads.AI ranked highly among strategic priorities, particularly for:
- Capacity management
- Cost optimization
- Operational automation
Looking Ahead
Respondents identified the following as key focus areas through 2026-2028:
- Secure access and Zero Trust initiatives
- Cost reduction and optimization
- AI-driven automation
- Continued platform modernization and consolidation around solutions such as AVD, Intune, and Nerdio
