Its completed! The biggest End User Computing community survey has been closed and again the responses have been overwhelming. We’ve had more than 750 participants from over 55 countries which is 5 more than last year!
As the survey questions are quite detailed and there are quite a few, it takes on average 13 minutes to fully complete the survey. There are always exceptions as the slowest (or should I say most thorough participant) took almost 8 hours.
Like last year, most of the respondents are digging into windows 10. Data shows that most are jumping straight from Windows 7, so it’s been a while since the last migration, therefore, this will likely be a major overhaul of the infrastructure, including surrounding components. As this is a major upgrade, it is likely that both GPU-related and layering technologies will be slipstreamed into the Windows 10 migration projects—as they are potentially very disruptive to the business.
The biggest EUC challenges for VDI and SBC has shifted, where in 2017 Overall cost reduction and user experience where the top items on the agenda its now all about reducing complexity and migrating to the cloud. These numbers do fluctuate per region, for example in the US overall cost reduction takes the lead position.
There you have it, some of the first results of the State of EUC survey 2018. We’re constantly sending updates and sharing interesting bits before the full report is available.
