In this year’s State of EUC report we saw that Desktop as a Service (or moving to a public cloud) has gained a lot of popularity of course it has already been high on the agenda of admins since 2015 but with products maturing I believe that now is the time to start investigating if moving completely, or a hybrid solution is the right way to go for you.
In the realm of Digital Workspaces Christiaan Brinkhoff has written an excellent how to (some say it’s better than the actual documentation) on VMware Horizon cloud / Workspace ONE in Microsoft Azure. Including market facts/trends and plenty of screenshots to support the story. Don’t stop reading if you are a Citrix guy though as “Workspace ONE also supports Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops and Remote Desktop Services – and will support the future of RDS, which is called RDmi – Remote Desktop Modern Infrastructure as well.”
